BAKER'S FORT (Fort Partiko)

Baker’s fort commonly known as fort Patiko was a military fort built by Sir Samuel Baker in Patiko, Gulu District, northern Uganda. Construction of the Fort was completed in 1872. In 1888 after sir Samuel Baker had left, the site was occupied by Emin Pasha and Charles Gordon while they served as governors of the equatorial province of the British Uganda protectorate.
